Dutch regulator grants twenty-first online gambling permit
Currently, little information is available regarding Smart Gaming, which is situated in the town of Almere.
The KSA stated it will publish the domain name the company will utilize once it is determined, but Smart Gaming has not yet submitted the domain names it intends to use.
The company is the twenty-first operator to be licensed to operate in the Dutch online gambling market. It follows the ComeOn Group, which declared last week that it would launch its flagship brand ComeOn in the Netherlands after receiving a permit.
Also last week, the KSA launched a gambling harm prevention research program developed by the Hague-based health organization ZonMw. It stated the program aims to gather new knowledge about preventing and treating gambling addiction and gambling-related harm, so that it can be shaped into new treatment measures.
The regulatory body has also recently taken action against unlicensed online gambling. Earlier this month, it ordered two different operators – Betworld247 and Sons of Slots – to leave the Dutch market or pay weekly fines.
