Tab NZ, New Zealand’s sole authorized gaming organization, declared the selection of Anna Stov as temporary head, succeeding departing leader Stuart.

Stuart will depart from his position next week. He will be leaving at the conclusion of August after two years as head, during which time he brought about “transformative change” for Tab NZ.

Stuart played a key role in the latter half of his term in securing a new strategic alliance with Entain. Entain declared in March that it would be aiding Tab NZ in providing wagering and broadcasting capabilities in New Zealand. The agreement is for 25 years.

Stuart stated: “It has been a very significant two years serving on the Tab NZ board. More importantly, we have delivered sustainable long-term results for our stakeholders through our partnership with Entain.

“I have complete faith in the remaining board and management team to continue building on the Entain partnership and delivering advantages for our nation.”

Tab NZ CEO Nick Roberts expressed gratitude to departing head Stuart. He said: “We have been incredibly lucky to have Mark’s unmatched experience and unique abilities.”

The alterations at the helm of Tab NZ have affected a vast number of New Zealanders, ranging from sports aficionados to those who depend on the domestic equine racing sector.

Minister McAnulty gave his approval to the appointment of Ms. Stoff as the temporary head.

Ms. Stoff has held this position since August 2021 when she assumed the role of deputy head, succeeding Mr. Stuart’s tenure. She also served as a member of the board of the racing industry transformation organization.

“I am truly delighted to accept this position, and our primary focus will be on collaborating with the government to modernize New Zealand’s gambling landscape,” Ms. Stoff stated.

Tab NZ also declared changes to its board. Jason Fleming has stepped down and taken on a new position as Tab NZ’s commercial general manager.

Bill Bernie, Wendy Harvey, and Rewan Lovett remain on the board alongside Ms. Stoff.

The Tab NZ-Entain agreement provides financial assistance to the New Zealand horse racing industry.

The announcement follows the successful launch of the Entain partnership, which commenced on June 1st.

Tab NZ stated that in its initial months, the partnership has provided financial support to the three main racing codes in New Zealand, the New Zealand Sports Authority, and 37 national sports organizations that have sports betting agreements with Tab NZ.

Tab NZ previously declared earlier this year when announcing the agreement that it joined the partnership due to escalating competition, rising expenses, capital limitations, and other difficulties.

This indicates that it has impacted their capacity to sufficiently finance racing and sporting events.

Entain issued a statement regarding the arrangement shortly after its implementation. The statement included a pledge from Entain to return a minimum of NZ$150 million annually to Tab NZ, which will be fulfilled over a five-year period following the agreement’s implementation.
