The Mobile Overview is your monthly digital summary of the mobile sector, enabling you to monitor the expansion of mobile devices since 2003 and forecast trends until 2023.
As the charts demonstrate, not only has total mobile income grown substantially since 2003, but its share of overall iGaming income has also increased rapidly, especially in the past five years.
H2 forecasts that mobile devices will account for over 52% of total iGaming income by 2023, although many operators are already reporting that over 50% of their income originates from mobile channels, particularly in sports wagering. As the donut chart illustrates, 67% of mobile income comes from sports wagering.
Intriguingly, while Europe accounts for the majority of global mobile income by region, Asia and the Middle East have a higher proportion of their total regional income derived from mobile devices. This could be attributed to the slow development of fixed-line broadband in some countries, particularly in Asia, where many users have bypassed desktop computers and utilized mobile devices as their initial internet device.
