Raketech has joined forces with Danske Spil, the Danish national gaming operator, in a media collaboration that will bolster the expansion of its sports offerings in Denmark. Raketech stated that the collaboration will back its long-term plan to diversify revenue sources. The agreement will initially run for three years with an option to extend for an additional year. Danske Spil is Raketech’s second partnership in Denmark, with the company also establishing a connection with gambling operator Vbet earlier this year. Raketech has also formed similar partnerships with other government-owned gambling operators, such as Svenska Spel in Sweden. “We are thrilled to announce a three-year media partnership with Danske Spil,” said Johan Svensson, acting CEO of Raketech. “It broadens our media products while continuing to provide top-tier online resources for the Danish market.” The partnership is a significant achievement for Raketech in Denmark. It acknowledges the capability of our products to support large successful operators who demand high levels of performance.” Svensson is temporarily assuming leadership of Raketech. Affiliate group Raketech has entered into a new media collaboration with Danish state-owned gambling operator Danske Spil.

Svensson assumed the temporary leadership position at Raketech in the first month of this year after Oscar Mårback departed.

Mårback’s exit was prompted by differences of opinion regarding the company’s strategic path. He had held the CEO position since December 2019, having previously served as the Chief Operating Officer.

Svensson, a co-founder of Raketech, previously held the CEO role, stepping down in 2017. He has now returned to the position on a temporary basis while Raketech seeks a permanent replacement.

The expansion of the lottery business was a key driver of revenue growth for Danske Spil.

Danske Spil, the operator, reported an increase in both revenue and net profit for its 2023 fiscal year compared to the previous year. This growth was attributed to the expansion of its lottery division.

Notable highlights included a 1.2% increase in revenue, reaching DKK 5.04 billion (£576.3 million/€675.6 million/$720.2 million). Of this amount, the Danske Lotteri Spil lottery division generated DKK 2.87 billion in revenue, representing a 2.5% increase and a record for annual total revenue.

Danske Spil reported a pre-tax profit of DKK 2.35 billion, reflecting a 6.0% increase. After accounting for DKK 526.5 million in taxes, the group concluded 2023 with a net profit of DKK 1.82 billion, representing a 5.9% year-on-year increase.
