The Ontario Alcohol and Gaming Commission (AGCO) has named Dave Forestell as its incoming Chair. A member of the AGCO Board since 2018, Forestell has progressively assumed greater duties. Most recently, he has held the position of Chair at iGaming Ontario, an AGCO subsidiary, since 2021. In order to dedicate his attention to his new leadership role at the AGCO, Forestell has relinquished his responsibilities at iGaming Ontario. The process of identifying his successor is currently in progress.

Forestell brings to the AGCO a wealth of knowledge acquired through his extensive background in government and public service. He held the position of Vice President of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario from 2008 to 2010. Subsequently, he was employed in the Prime Minister’s Office in Ottawa, serving as a Policy Advisor and later as Director of Personnel from 2009 to 2012. His professional journey then led him to the Conservative Party of Canada, where he held the roles of Acting Executive Director and Senior Advisor to the Leader from 2013 to 2015.

Furthermore, Forestell holds a position on the Board of Governors at OCAD University.

Forestell is assuming the role previously held by Lalit Aggarwal, who recently declared his intention to step down in order to devote more time to his family and explore other avenues.

Mr. Forestell held the Vice President position at Barrick Gold Corporation from 2014 to 2018 and briefly acted as Chairman of the Board for Compañía Minera Casale between 2015 and 2017.

He commenced his tenure at Scotiabank in 2018 as Vice President within the CEO’s office, subsequently advancing to Deputy Head in 2021, a position he maintained until 2022.

Following his departure from Scotiabank, he assumed the role of Vice President of Canadian External Relations at TC Energy in 2022. Presently, he is serving as the Chairman of AGCO.
